Devizes Writers’ Group includes both published and amateur writers, who meet monthly to share ‘homework’ written to a set title. ‘Pig in the Middle’ stories have been written specially for the Festival, and will be read by their authors, alongside a variety of other pieces.

Feeling tired and lethargic after a hard week? All you want to do is to slump in front of the television? Instead, recharge those batteries and get the weekend off to an energetic start with an evening of traditional barn dancing. Perfect Cure will provide the music and Dick Stranger will be your caller.

[32] An Evening with Mozart

Marden House: 7.30pm

The Ardeton Ensemble (In collaboration with the flautist Debbie Matthews) presents a wonderful evening of Mozart’s celebrated chamber music, performing one of his charming Flute Quartets, written at the pinnacle of the genre’s popularity in the late 18th century. The Ensemble’s versatility will be further demonstrated in the Horn Quintet and will conclude with the String Quartet K.464 in A Major.

The Downs Quartet was formed by Clive Morgan in 2005 when the players were at junior school together. They continued to meet weekly when they moved on to secondary school and have performed in street parties and festivals in Sussex. Julia and Michael are grandchildren of Peter and Marigold Treloar.
