Festival Opening - Art Exhibition Private View & Festival Opening

Christopher MilesThe Exhibition and Festival will be opened by Dr. Helen Wright, the Head of St Mary’s, Calne, one of the leading independent girls’ schools in the UK.

Mother-of-three Dr Wright, an Oxford languages graduate, has been Head since 2003. She is a key player in girls’ education, regularly writes and advises on education and parenting issues in the media and beyond and becomes President of the Girls’ Schools Association in January 2011. She has been instrumental not only in developing the school’s enviable academic record but also for nurturing the all-round quality of its education and its excellent pastoral care.

St Mary’s reputation for music and the dramatic arts is second to none with a world-famous Chamber Choir and a drama department with a unique affiliation to RADA.

Music to accompany the evening will be provided by Mary Pilcher-Clayton.
Open only to patrons, sponsors and exhibiting artists. Please bring your invitation with you for a complimentary glass of wine.

Pete Causer on box, Jeff Brown on whistles,Torquil McInness on mandola together with friends from the Old Road Tavern, Chippenham, on fiddle, melodian and bodhrán. 

Do join them in making music – all are welcome – or come and listen and sing over a pint in a friendly atmosphere. You may have seen Pete Causer performing in Larkrise to Candleford.
