And every bird shall sing: Primary school choirs from Calne and surrounding villages will once again gather under the direction of Ursula Barham to delight the audience with popular and well-loved songs. Individual schools will perform their own chosen song with a bird theme and the mass choir will sing two songs together in harmony: ‘Feed the Birds’ from Mary Poppins and ‘Take these Wings’ by Kupfersschmid and Besig.

Event 20: Midwest Big Band

7.30pm - Marden House - Admission £10 (Friends £7; £1 U18s)

We welcome back one of the premier Big Bands in the South West of England. Expect an evening of toe tapping bliss. Their performance will include classics from Count Basie and Duke Ellington, along with some more modern big band arrangements of tunes like Van Morrison's "Moondance". They will also feature some Frank Sinatra classic vocals, such as "That's Life" and "I've got you under my skin", as interpreted by Ken Jell.

U-Calne-Leles was formed initially as a way of keeping friends together after the choir ‘Singchronise’ disbanded.
