The Songs of Oscar Hammerstein II

Michelle Sheridan-Grant - Soprano: Peter Grant - Bass-Baritone: Peter Blackwood - Piano

120 years after he was born, Oscar Hammerstein’s influence on the world of musical theatre continues to be felt. Show Boat, Oklahoma!, the Sound of Music and South Pacific are some of the greatest Musicals of the 20th Century but they only provide a small taste of his vast contribution to the art form. Join Calne residents Peter Grant and Michelle in their second appearance at the Festival as they take you on a journey through the great man’s life.

26 - Rock Night with The Shudders

7:30pm - White Hart - Admission Free

An acid cool indie rock folk band, who play all their own material, having been together for 6 years now. Their second album, released in 2015, was recorded and mixed in Sweden, and it shows.

27 - Baseline

9:30pm CODA - Marden House - Admission Free

Following John Bentley’s Assistant Headteacher Peter Grant’s performance earlier, a group of four students from The John Bentley School bring their own take on the contemporary world of pop music.

Festival Club, Marden House

The wine bar at Marden House  is open before evening events and for interval drinks. Coffee and cakes are also available on weekday evenings after the main event, but owing to licensing laws we shall be unable to serve alcoholic drinks on the Monday evening. Light lunches are served following the weekday lunchtime concerts in Marden House. Why not also come and enjoy a late Coda event in a relaxed atmosphere.
