12 - Recital by Marlborough College

Lunchtime Series 12:15pm - Marden House - dmission £3 (Friends free, £1 children)

From 2008 onwards the Festival has hosted musicians selected from the 30 Music Scholars of Marlborough College. This dynamic group of highly skilled young players, many of whom are members of National Youth Orchestras, will present an instrumental programme of both solo and chamber repertoire.

13 - Violin Recital: John Kane

7:30pm - Marden House - Admission £8 (£6 Friends, £1 children)

A glorious violin recital given by virtuoso musicians John Kane (violin) and Stephen Robbings (piano). John and Stephen, who are on the music staff of Winchester College, have given many concerts and recitals together over the years, including a piano trio residency at the Masterworks Festival in USA. Their Festival debut programme will draw from the rich classical and romantic repertoire for violin and piano. The programme will include Beethoven, F major Op24 (The Spring Sonata), Music for 247 Strings by Judith Weir and the Cesar Franck Violin Sonata in A major.


14 - CODA: The Celtic Caim

9:00pm - Marden House - Admission Free

A performance of Celtic music by Georgia Browne on violin and Genevieve Browne on harp. They will be joined by
Georgia’s husband, Tom Payne, a Scottish tenor.
