14 - Lunchtime Series:

Combined School Choirs

"From Britten to the Beatles"

12.15pm - John Bentley School: Admission £3 (friends free)

In the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth local primary school children will come together to perform a selection of songs from Friday Afternoons, written by Britten in 1933/34 specifically for young people. The children will also form a mass choir to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' first number one by performing some of the Beatle’s  songs.


15 - John Bentley School

7.30pm - Marden House: Admission £7 (£5 friends)

Students from the John Bentley School perform a varied programme with music from the last 300 years! The concert will feature students currently undertaking A Level, GCSE and BTEC courses.


16 - CODA: St Mary’s School Concert Artists

9.30pm - Marden House: Admission free

St Mary’s Concert Artists present songs from the world of film and music theatre, including excerpts from Evita, the forthcoming St Mary’s 2013 musical, a co-production with the Drama Department.  The programme will include popular instrumental and vocal music of great diversity.
