concert: Victorian Evergreens - Staff of St
Mary’s School

Sing
along with evergreens of the Victorian
drawing room such as The Honeysuckle and
the Bee and After the Ball; then
be transported past the potted palms to the
countryside of the Shropshire Lad. An
opportunity to hear the accomplished Philippa
Hobson and Hilary Greenhill accompanied by
Edward Whiting displaying their skills and
versatility.

Peter
Martin (who has family living in Calne) and
Michael Copley playing guitar, baroque
guitar, charango, lute, flutes, panpipes,
recorders and ocarina, as eclectic as it
gets, offer an exhilarating spread of music
from all over Europe and beyond. Set
out in seventeenth-century London, rub
shoulders with Santiago de Murcia in Spain
and Antonio Carlos Jobim in Brazil, stop off
in Bulgaria and Argentina, and indulge in a
breathtaking trip to Venice with Antonio
Vivaldi.

|

Lingara
is a recently formed world music community
choir, based at The Cause in Chippenham.
They are led by Elena Winch who ran a
choir in New Zealand before returning to the
UK. The choir is continuing to grow but
would welcome new members, particularly men!
